Start where the matter is.
Some work begins with a clear objective. Some begins with a technology, an opportunity, or a problem whose possibilities aren't yet understood.
We work with what exists, what needs to happen, and what it will take to make progress.
What we do with it.
The work draws on connected capabilities, with the emphasis changing according to the matter. These are not fixed stages.
-
Get close to the matter.
We understand the technology, product, business, people, and conditions already involved. We establish what works, what is difficult, and what needs attention.
-
Work out what needs to happen.
We connect the objective with what is technically possible, commercially workable, and useful to the people involved. Where the direction is established, we work toward it. Where choices remain, we develop and evaluate them.
-
Make it real.
We design, model, prototype, test, and develop tangible work. Making gives everyone the same thing to react to, exposes what holds up, and informs the decisions that follow.
-
Shape what needs to exist around it.
A product, service, or system has to work in its context. We develop the architecture, experience, and other connected parts that the work requires.
-
Work out what it takes.
We establish the decisions, dependencies, risks, scope, and practical requirements for moving forward, including what Whole Matter will deliver and what others will take on.
The work takes the form the matter requires.
We work from early investigation through design, development, and the practical decisions needed to move something forward.
That can mean establishing what's possible, making something tangible, developing what needs to exist around it, or taking an established brief through delivery.
We agree the work, its scope, and responsibilities around what needs to be achieved.
Founder-led, built around the work.
Whole Matter is founded and led by Anthony Maley, Kristof Sajdak, and Daniel Donoghue. Their shared experience and direct involvement establish the approach and direction of the practice.
The people and capabilities involved in each engagement depend on what the work requires. Where additional expertise is needed, we agree how it will be brought together, how the work will be led, and where responsibilities sit.
